Do not use the Back/Forward buttons to move between questions - The answer to each question in this program determines what question is asked next. In order to keep track of the logical path taken through the Performance Standards, use only the blue buttons provided in the main window to move between questions (Yes, No, Unknown, Continue, Previous Questions, Begin at Selected Question). You should use the Back button to return from linked documents, as usual.
If you inadvertently do use Back/Forward to move beween questions
Choose "Previous Questions", select a slightly earlier
question at which to resume, and continue. This will rebuild the correct path.
Browsers - This program was written to work on Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers. It has not been tested on others, but if your browser conforms to Netscape standards, the program should work fine. The page layout is designed for best viewing at a screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels.
Cookies - This program uses a method of keeping track of information that you supply
to it known as a Cookie. It simply means that the program sends to your machine a
small piece of information which is stored for retrieval by the next question
(session name and last question). There is nothing inherently bad about using a cookie; in fact,
it is used here correctly.
Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers have options to alert you or refuse a cookie when it is
sent to you. You should turn this warning off, otherwise it will appear prior to every new
screen.
Session Life - The cookie is set to expire automatically after 30 days, so you have that long to work with a session or download a finished session to your machine for further modifications to the worksheet.
Bug ReportingTo report problems or bugs in the program, please send an e-mail to nbiap@vt.edu. If possible, please include a short description of the problem or what you were doing at the time, and note the reference number at the bottom of the screen (e.g., I.0, II.A.1.1, etc.)
