2nd International Molecular Farming Conference

August 29 - September 1, 1999
London, Ontario, Canada

Molecular Farming is defined as the production of peptides, proteins, enzymes, pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals in agricultural commodities such as plants and animals. It is an innovative, economical and reliable production platform for vaccines, industrial enzymes, and modified animal feeds. The use of plants, animals and insects as bio-reactors for the commercial scale production of recombinant proteins and peptides of industrial and pharmaceutical use, is currently one of the fastest growing sectors in the biotechnology industry. Commercialization of the initial industrial and therapeutic applications of this new technology is now well underway. Rapidly developing technologies and issues surrounding Molecular Farming will be showcased at the conference through speakers, workshops and poster sessions.
